Almost 53,000 lawyers are working in Ukraine

According to the Unified Register of Lawyers, 52,960 lawyers were working in Ukraine as of the end of October. Back in summer, the Ukrainian National Bar Association reported 53,361 active lawyers, so the number dropped by 401 during autumn. At the same time, since the start of the full-scale invasion, the total number of lawyers in Ukraine has increased by 8%.

The profession is still mostly male — 59% of registered lawyers are men.

The Kyiv region has the largest number of lawyers: 9,258, or 18% of the total. Kyiv city is next with 5,550 lawyers (11%). Odesa region (4,016) and Dnipropetrovsk region (4,015) share third place.
