During the first quarter of 2021, 3,782 new child support evaders have appeared. This increase is much higher compared to the same period last year: the number was 2,440 at that time.
The number of debtors keeps growing every year. At the end of 2019, it was 173,931, while at the end of 2020, it amounted to 185,247. During thirteen quarantine months, new 14,008 child support evaders have appeared. Today, the total number is 189,029.

The child support evader register includes those parents who have not been paying child support for more than six months. They are usually men. Nevertheless, the register includes over 15,000 women who make up more than 8%.
Since 2018, there have been several limitations that complicate debtors’ lives. According to the experts, the most efficient one is the restriction to leave Ukraine, which forces those who like to travel abroad to deal with their debts. Probably, it explains why the total number of child support evaders decreased temporarily during the New Year holidays at the beginning of 2020 and 2021. Also, at the beginning of the summer in 2020, which is a common period for vacations, the growth of debtors slowed down significantly.
