Over 3.2 million traffic violations were recorded by automated cameras in the first 9 months of 2024, according to the Patrol Police Department. This is 1.7 times higher than the same period last year and marks a record high for the past five years. Of these, 99% of violations were related to speeding. Additionally, more than 2 million violations were recorded by police officers.

This year, 3,278,982 traffic violations were detected by automated cameras in Ukraine. This figure is 1.7 times higher than the same period last year, setting a record for the entire operation of traffic cameras since June 2020. Nearly all recorded violations were related to speeding. Only 1% — or 16,833 cases — involved stopping or driving in a lane designated for public transport.

The highest number of violations in a single month was recorded in September 2024, with 520,247 incidents.

As of October 2024, automated traffic cameras in Ukraine recorded a significant number of traffic violations. Currently, there are 308 such cameras operating in 19 regions of Ukraine and the capital. Notably, 20% of all cameras are located in Kyiv (30 cameras) and the Kyiv region (32 cameras). In the Lviv region, 44 cameras are installed, with 13 in Lviv city and 31 in the surrounding areas. In regions closer to the front lines (Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions), the cameras are not operational.

In comparison, before the full-scale war, 246 cameras were monitoring traffic violations in 24 cities and 15 regions.

Additionally, police officers issued 2,088,433 citations for traffic violations, with the highest number in the Lviv region (220,161 citations), followed by Kyiv (180,719) and the Odesa region (134,836).
