The import of electric cars to Ukraine increased by 2.1 times in 2024

A record 20,800 electric vehicles were imported to Ukraine in the first five months of 2024. Despite power outages, the demand for electric cars has more than doubled over the year.
The number of electric cars is growing year by year. This year, a record number of such vehicles were imported — 20,785. This is 2.1 times more than during the same period in 2023 when 9,736 electric cars were imported.
Overall, electric cars account for 12.9% of the total number of imported vehicles.
Among all electric cars, TESLA is the most popular with Ukrainians — 4,742 cars. The second place goes to VOLKSWAGEN with 3,194 electric cars, and the top three is rounded out by NISSAN with 3,034 electric cars. The most demanded models among electric vehicles are the NISSAN LEAF, TESLA MODEL 3, and VOLKSWAGEN ID.4.

The leader among regions in the import of electric cars was Lviv region — 13.5%, followed by Kyiv (13.1%) and Odesa region (9.3%).
