131 luxury vehicles were imported to Ukraine in the first five months of 2025, according to the Ministry of Economy. 43% of them went to the capital, and another 13% — to the Kyiv region. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are the most popular luxury brands — they make up 84% of all luxury cars imported this year.

Ukrainians imported 131 luxury cars from abroad in the first five months of 2025. That’s 3.4 times fewer than in the same period last year (448 cars). However, compared to 2021, the number of expensive cars has grown by 42%.

A sharp increase in the number of vehicles subject to the luxury tax happened in 2023, when 584 such cars were imported during the first five months of the year.

The largest share of new luxury cars went to Kyiv — 43% of all cars imported in 2025. Another 13% were registered in Kyiv region, and 9% each went to Odesa and Lviv regions.

47% of all cars are powered by electricity, and another 23% use either electricity or gasoline. Premium gasoline cars take third place with 19%.

This year, 63% of all luxury cars imported to Ukraine are Porsche. Popular models include the Porsche Taycan (41% of all cars) and Porsche Cayenne E-hybrid (8%).

In second place is Mercedes-Benz, making up 21% of the total. The most popular models among Ukrainians are the Mercedes-Benz S 450 and Mercedes-Benz S 580 4MATIC, which together account for 15% of all luxury cars.

This year, the most expensive car spotted in Kyiv is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, priced at 700 thousand dollars. You can also see the Rolls-Royce Spectre on our streets, which costs 600 thousand dollars.

Every year, Ukraine updates the list of cars subject to the transport tax. Currently, there are 338 such models, but last year there were more — 468.

From January to April, owners of expensive cars paid 87.2 million hryvnias in tax. This is 12%, or 9.2 million hryvnias more than the same period last year. Most taxpayers are, as expected, in Kyiv — paying 26.5 million hryvnias.

This tax is paid by owners of cars that are no older than 5 years and cost over 3 million hryvnias. Accordingly, the tax rate for one premium car is 25,000 hryvnias.
