Only Cases of Document Forgery Reach Court

In the first five months of this year, 188 criminal proceedings related to raiding were recorded, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office. This represents a 1.3-fold increase compared to the same period in 2023. The majority of proceedings are initiated under Article 205-1 for “Document Forgery”.
The number of raiding cases has been rising in recent years, although it has yet to reach the levels seen before the full-scale invasion. Since the beginning of the year, 188 proceedings have been initiated under raiding-related articles. This is 1.3 times higher than the corresponding period last year, which saw 147 proceedings. However, it is still half the number recorded in 2021, which had 398 cases.
In the months leading up to the full-scale invasion, an average of 50 new cases were registered monthly. At the beginning of this year, 32 new proceedings were opened per month, but by May, the number had reached 52.

Most commonly recorded raiding cases through document forgery is the most frequently recorded type, accounting for 138 or 73% of all cases this year.
Since the beginning of the year, 29 criminal proceedings have been opened for obstruction of legitimate business activities and 21 for unlawful seizure of enterprise property. Notably, no new cases concerning obstruction of business activities or unlawful seizure of enterprise property have reached the court since the start of the year.

According to the Anti-Raiding Office, the number of complaints about raiding actions is increasing year by year. In the first five months of this year, 1,255 complaints were received. By comparison, there were 1,905 such complaints in the entire previous year.
