Where is Ukrainian business moving during the war?

Nearly 8,000 Ukrainian businesses changed their registration region since the beginning of the full-scale war. The most popular direction for relocation was the route from Kyiv to Odesa. The majority of relocated enterprises (44%) are in wholesale trade, and other companies in construction and real estate are also in the top list.
Since the start of the full-scale war, 7,820 Ukrainian businesses have changed their registration region. 27% of the total number of companies moved out of Kyiv. In the top 3 regions from where entrepreneurs moved since the start of the full-scale war, Dnipropetrovsk oblast (11%) and Donetsk oblast (8%) are also included.
At the same time, Kyiv also tops the list of regions where companies are moving — 22% of the total number of relocators chose the capital. Despite the military actions and proximity to the front line, entrepreneurs also choose Kharkiv and Odesa regions — 10% each of the companies that changed regions.
Currently, the most popular route for businesses relocating is from Kyiv to Odesa: 350 companies have chosen this path. The second most popular route is from Dnipropetrovsk region to Kyiv — 300 companies. Closing the top three is the route “Kyiv-Kharkiv region” — 289 businesses.

Nearly half of the companies that changed their registration region work in wholesale trade — 44%. In second place are companies in the construction sector (6%). Completing the top three of internally displaced businesses are those involved in real estate operations.
Reminder: 840 businesses relocated to safe regions using the government program. Companies that relocated through this program were in high demand in other regions, mostly in the western part of Ukraine: Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Chernivtsi regions.
Through the government, businesses can move to one of sixteen regions: Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Rivne, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv (excluding the city of Kyiv) oblasts.
