Who made it to the Opentadabot Index 2024?

More than 535 billion UAH was earned by the leading wholesale trade companies in 2023, according to the Opentadabot Index. The ranking includes companies engaged in the trade of tobacco products, agricultural products, metals, pharmaceuticals, and food products. Notably, giants like Philip Morris Sales and Distribution, Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK Trading, and West Petrol Market were excluded from the ranking.
The combined income of the top 10 wholesale trading companies amounted to 535.34 billion UAH in 2023. The earnings of the businesses in the top 10 of the Opentadabot Index increased by 17% compared to last year’s leaders.
Kernel Trade has topped the ranking for the third consecutive year, despite a 9% decrease in revenue to 62.06 billion UAH. This company, part of Andriy Verevsky’s Kernel Group, is involved in the wholesale trade of grain and sunflower oil. However, its net profit decreased by 15%, amounting to 4.37 billion UAH.
It’s worth noting that at the end of April this year, the company changed its registered business activity from wholesale trade to oil production.
OKKO Express, a newcomer to the market established in September 2022, rose to the second position. In 2023, its revenue amounted to 61.89 billion UAH, and its net profit reached 1.15 billion UAH. This company, engaged in fuel trading, replaced another UIG Group company, OKKO-Business Partner, in the ranking.
Tedis Ukraine, part of the Kaufman family group, remains in third place. Its revenue decreased by 5% to 61.53 billion UAH, and the company incurred a loss of 539 million UAH. Tedis Ukraine is involved in the wholesale trade of tobacco products.
In fourth place is BaDM, specializing in the wholesale trade of pharmaceutical products, owned by Oleksandr Dytyatkovsky and Oleksandr Sukhodolsky. The company increased its revenue by 29% to 56.73 billion UAH, and its profit doubled to 3.89 billion UAH in 2023.
Another pharmaceutical company, Optima Pharm, retained the fifth position with a revenue of 56.73 billion UAH, which is 28% more than in 2022. Owned by Andriy Ivanovych Gubsky, the company managed to increase its profit by 1.7 times last year.
Yuriy Kosyuk’s MHP company moved from 4th to 6th place in the Index, despite a 12% increase in revenue to 50.65 billion UAH. However, the company incurred losses of 1 billion UAH in 2023.
Among the new participants in the Opentadatabot Index 2024, DL Solution stands out, established in August 2022, owned by Israeli citizen Ari Weber. The company’s primary activity is the wholesale trade of tobacco products. DL Solution secured 7th place with a revenue of 50.65 billion UAH and a net profit of 61.36 million UAH.
Occupying the eighth position is WOG Resource, part of the Continuum group owned by Serhiy Lagur and Stepan Ivakhiv, engaged in fuel trade. The company increased its revenue by 30% to 50.13 billion UAH and showed the highest growth in net profit among competitors — by 7 times — to 275 million UAH.
Fozzy Commerce demonstrated the largest revenue growth, climbing to 9th place with a sevenfold increase in revenue to 41.85 billion UAH. However, the company’s net profit decreased tenfold compared to last year. Fozzy Commerce is part of Fozzy Group, owned by Volodymyr Kostelman.
Metinvest-SMC, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, closes the ranking with a revenue of 40.71 billion UAH, which is 36% more than in the first year of the full-scale war. Last year, the company, engaged in the wholesale trade of metals and metal structures, earned a profit of 881.55 million UAH, almost a third more than in 2022.

Three companies engaged in wholesale fuel trade exited the top-10 list: Okko-business partner, DTEK Trading, and West Petrol Market. Also, Philip Morris Sales and Distribution left the ranking despite a 36% revenue growth in 2023.
