Nearly one in four transport licenses in the register is invalid
Which transport licenses are most common in Ukraine?

Over 78,000 transport licenses have been issued in Ukraine as of mid-August, according to data from the State Service of Transport Safety (Ukrtransbezpeka). However, only 72.8% of them remain valid. Most of these licenses were issued in 2022.
Out of the total number of registered licenses, 72.8% (or around 57,000) are currently valid. The remaining 27.2% are either invalid or have been revoked. Since the registry’s inception, only one license has been reinstated.
Transport licenses in Ukraine are verified through the Licensing Registry for Carriers.

The largest number of licenses falls under the category of “International Cargo Transport by Trucks”, accounting for 32,000 licenses, or 42.8%. Another 16.9% are for “Domestic Passenger Transport by Buses”, totaling 12,000 licenses. Taxis rank third with 9,000 licenses or 12.9%.
It’s important to note that a single license can cover multiple categories, and some registered licenses may not specify any category at all.

In 2024, 4.8 thousand transport licenses have already been issued, which is double the amount compared to 2021, when 2.2 thousand permits were issued. The highest number of transport licenses was issued in 2022 — 10.9 thousand. Last year, the number of new licenses decreased by 11.8%, to 9.6 thousand.

Visit the page of the Licensing Register of Ukrainian Carriers and submit the company’s EDRPOU code or an individual entrepreneur’s tax ID (RNOKPP).
