Demand for land and real estate has increased by 1.5 times this year

In 2024, Ukrainians are more frequently selling or transferring land to others. Specifically, notaries certified 185 thousand land alienation agreements in the first quarter of 2024. This is 56% more than in the same period last year when notaries certified nearly 119 thousand such deeds.

The number of these agreements is already a third higher than before the start of the full-scale war. In 2021, over 136 thousand land alienation agreements were formalized.

At the same time, alienations of other real estate, apart from land, have increased by one and a half times this year. For example, in the first quarter of this year, notaries certified over 181 thousand such deeds. In comparison, during the same period last year, there were nearly 117 thousand such agreements.

However, this is still 16% less than before the full-scale war began: then, slightly over 216 thousand deeds were used for land alienation.

It’s worth noting that not every notarial action necessarily corresponds to just one notarial certificate. Therefore, the number of actions is approximate and is compared to previous years.

Recall that the total number of used notarial certificates increased by 2.6 million last year, but still remains lower than before the full-scale war began.
