How do restaurants feel after a year of quarantine and multiple lockdowns?

The number of operational restaurants decreased by 14% after the spring lockdown. Also, their turnover dropped by 12%.
In late March, a lockdown was imposed in Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa, which wasn’t lifted until end-April. The red-zone restrictions stipulated that restaurants serve only take-away food. In some regions, restrictions were lifted earlier, resulting in a slight rebound in end-April.

The restrictions were lifted for the May holidays, but no recovery of note was seen over this period. Only +2% restaurants re-opened. Turnover also increased by a mere 2% compared to the pre-lockdown figures.
