In 2020, 616,835 people died in Ukraine. Surplus mortality against the previous three years reached 35,000.
The highest monthly mortality was reported in December 2020 at 67,000. The previous record was set in November of the same year at 63,000.

COVID-19 and its complications took 18,500 people in 2020.
Among the top causes of Ukrainians’ deaths are still cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks and strokes, oncologic diseases and accidents.
