COVID-related deaths down 36% in January
Prevalent causes of death in Ukraine

In January 2021, 3,922 people died from COVID-19 or its complications, 36% down from December’s 6,175.
Another 1953 deaths in January were due to respiratory diseases, including 1,499 from flu and pneumonia. In December, the figure was higher at 2,812.

Overall, 57,721 deaths were registered in January 2021, against 67,663 in December. The combined death toll of respiratory diseases and COVID-19 shrank by 34% month-on-month.
